Welcome to Principles of Audio/Video Communications & Technology

 

This course will introduce students to the many career opportunities available in the field of audio/video production, and photography. Students will develop oral and written communication skills, as well as creative and professional skills through internet research, formal and informal presentations, computer applications, communication management, and industry training. This course is designed to teach students the basic principles of audio and video production while preparing students for careers in communications media. Throughout the semester, students will gain an understanding and mastery of video camera operation and recording. The students will develop critical thinking skills by learning to prepare scripts, storyboards, and have a vision of the production process from pre-production to post-production; learn basic lighting techniques, audio, and video editing techniques; and acquire an objective and reflective attitude towards television and radio production and technology. The students will develop critical thinking skills by learning to prepare scripts, storyboards, and have a vision of the production process. Students enhance reading, writing, computing, communication, and critical thinking and apply them to the information technology environment.
